By Dana Harris Writers will receive a detailed treatment and a character breakdown and will then be expected to produce a script in four weeks. Each will be expected to draft six to 10 scripts per year to a second-draft level. Gryphon founders Brett Morrison and Robert Gryphon, along with the company’s creative team, have prepared a number of treatments. “In order to develop the unusually large amount of material we have on the slate, we were forced to go to an old-style studio model,” Gryphon said. In addition to salaries, Gryphon will write bonuses for its writers into the budgets of the features and TV shows. Among the projects Gryphon has in development are the sci-fi “Steele’s Island,” family comedy “Five Generations of Jerks” and romantic comedy “Parallel Kiss.” Company also has optioned the supernatural action thriller “Thunderhead” by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child (“The Relic”). Gryphon recently co-exec produced “The Cooler” with Content Film.
