| GRYPHON FILMS TO CREATE THUNDERHEAD | |||||

ANGELES, CA, August 21, 2002—Gryphon Films, the feature film production
company founded by Robert Gryphon and Brett Morrison, announced today they
have bought the rights to thriller Thunderhead from New York Times
best-selling authors Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child (Riptide,The
Relic). The Relic was the authors’ first movie produced, released
by Paramount Pictures in 1997.
“Many of our projects call for strong female stars,” Morrison states. “The lead role in Thunderhead is perfect for the top female talent in Hollywood.” Thunderhead is a fast-paced thriller about an expedition to a lost city of gold in the American Southwest, led by a woman archaeologist on a quest to unravel one of modern archaeology’s greatest mysteries. Matthew Snyder of CAA brokered the deal on behalf of the authors. Irwin J. Tenenbaum of Loeb & Loeb represented Gryphon Films. Production will start in 2003 with New Mexico being the primary location for the dessert setting. Gryphon Films recently co-executive produced “The Cooler” with Content Film. Directed by Wayne Kramer, “The Cooler” stars William H. Macy, Alec Baldwin, and Maria Bello. Gryphon’s first film was “Lady Jayne Killer (aka: Betrayal)”, directed by Mark Lester. Robert Gryphon, Executive Producer and Chairman, is an inventor, technology designer, venture capitalist, restaurateur, writer, and composer. As an early employee at Scopus Technology (now a part of Siebel Systems), Mr. Morrison was instrumental in taking Scopus through a successful IPO.
